Class Descriptions
RESTORING RHYTHM: FEEL THE FLOW
This all levels class utilizes the traditional sun salutations to link the breath to the body, the body to the mind, and the mind to the present moment. Students learn to navigate from the center of their being as they mindfully move from one pose to the next. This class focuses on the alignment and action in the foundational poses on your feet and on your seat. Over time more challenging poses are added to the sequence as the student experiences more ease internally and externally. This is a fun playful class that invites students to move into the edge and explore deeper levels of breath, balance, strength, and flexibility.
MINDFUL MOVES: COMING TO OUR SENSES
This all levels class explores the practice of inquiry that guides students on a journey inward to investigate the somatic intelligence of our being. Students are invited to slowly and mindfully turn their attention to the density of their body and the movement of their breath as they come more fully into the present moment. Sequences are chosen to encourage students to pause long enough to notice the quality of sensations arising into awareness. Over time students cultivate a curiosity and an appreciation for the embodied experience a yoga practice has to offer.
YOGA STRETCH: FREE THE FASCIA
This class utilizes yoga poses to stretch the head, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, hips, legs, feet, spine, and torso. Through invitation and inquiry students learn how to orient, ground, and center as they navigate their way through the stretch sequences. Students will discover how to move the body through extension, flexion, and rotation as they increase the range of motion at each joint. Students are encouraged to pause long enough to notice the movement of the breath, the limits of the body, and the balance of effort and ease.
VINYASA FLOW: THE DANCE OF AWARENESS
This all levels class utilizes the traditional sun salutations to link the breath to the body, the body to the mind, and the mind to the present moment. Students learn to notice patterns, explore options, and discover choice as they mindfully move from one pose to the next. This class focuses on the alignment and action in the foundational poses on your feet and on your seat. Students practice linking their breath to their movements slowly and mindfully as they gain confidence and cultivate awareness. Over time poses are added to the sequence as the student experiences more ease and deeper levels of balance, strength, and flexibility.
